02 / Inside WordPress

URL component inspector controls in Elementor

Address sets the starting address, adding https:// when it is missing, other schemes, unticking tracking parameters and hiding passwords. Behaviour turns the parts list, parameters table, notes, Copy JSON and live updates on or off. Labels sets the heading and every label and button. The Style tab covers the layout, parts and parameters, fields, the clean address panel and buttons.

03 / Website use cases

Where to use url component inspector

Long links hide what they contain: which website they really go to, what each query parameter is, and which parts only track the click. URL component inspector splits any address into its parts with the same rules browsers use, flags tracking parameters and other details, and gives a clean copy with only the parameters the visitor keeps.

08 / Common setup problems

Troubleshoot url component inspector

Check these settings if the published page behaves differently from the editor.

Why was https:// added?

Addresses without a scheme get https:// so they can be read; turn that option off to require a scheme.

Why does the clean address look different?

Browsers lower-case the website name and encode spaces; the clean copy shows the address as they read it.

Why is a mailto: link refused?

Only http and https are inspected unless Inspect other schemes too is on.

Why is the password hidden?

Hide passwords in the results is on, and the clean address leaves credentials out.

09 / Frequently asked questions

No. It works with the free version of Elementor.

utm_ parameters and click IDs such as fbclid, gclid, msclkid, mc_eid and _hsenc.
