Ratio simplifier controls in Elementor

Content sets whether the working, the 1 : n form and the shares are shown, the decimal places for those, one field or two (first and second quantity), live results or a Simplify button, and every label, including an optional heading, the hint and the starting ratio. The Style tab covers the fields, the result box, labels and messages, the widget text and alignment, and the buttons.

03 / Website use cases

Where to use ratio simplifier

Recipes, mixing guides, maths lessons and design pages often ask readers to scale or compare ratios, and readers then go elsewhere to simplify them. Ratio simplifier sits on your own page: visitors type a ratio such as 12 : 18 : 24 or 1.5 : 2.25 and see the simplest whole-number form, how it was reached, the 1 : n form and each part's share of the total, updated as they type. Nothing is sent anywhere.

07 / Requirements and compatibility

Ratio simplifier compatibility with Elementor

WordPress 6.5+PHP 8.0+Elementor 3.25+
  • Requires Elementor; works without WooCommerce.
  • Simplifies ratios; it does not scale them up to a target amount.
  • Up to 15 digits before the point and 6 decimal places per part.

Complementor uses classic Elementor APIs. Atomic-native controls are not implemented. Check your theme, cache and integrations on a staging site before release.

08 / Common setup problems

Troubleshoot ratio simplifier

Check these settings if the published page behaves differently from the editor.

Why does “1,500 : 250” give an odd result?

A comma is read as a decimal point. Type numbers without thousands separators.

Why is the 1 : n form missing?

It is left out when the first part is 0, and it can be turned off in the Results section.

Why do I see “Add the next part after the colon”?

The ratio ends with a colon. Type the next number.

Why are negative numbers refused?

Ratios compare amounts, so every part must be 0 or more.

09 / Frequently asked questions

Ratio simplifier plugin questions

Does it need Elementor Pro?

No. It works with the free version of Elementor.

Can it simplify decimals?

Yes. Decimals are multiplied by a power of ten first, so 1.5 : 2.25 becomes 2 : 3.

How many parts can a ratio have?

From two to ten parts, separated by colons.

Is the result rounded?

No. The simplest form is exact. Only the 1 : n form and the shares are rounded to the decimal places you choose.

Does it need JavaScript?

Yes. Without it a short message is shown instead.
