Query string builder controls in Elementor

Parameters sets the starting name=value lines, the base address field, the UTM button, how spaces are written, leaving out empty values, sorting, whether visitors can change the options and the most parameters. Behaviour chooses live updates or a Build button. Labels sets the heading and every label and button. The Style tab covers the layout, fields, results and buttons.

03 / Website use cases

Where to use query string builder

Hand-written query strings break on spaces, ampersands, equals signs and accents, and adding parameters to an address that already has some is easy to get wrong. Query string builder encodes every name and value, adds them after any existing parameters and before the #, and gives the query string and full link to copy.

WordPress 6.5+PHP 8.0+Elementor 3.25+
  • Requires Elementor.

  • Runs in the visitor’s browser.

Complementor uses classic Elementor APIs. Atomic-native controls are not implemented. Check your theme, cache and integrations on a staging site before release.

08 / Common setup problems

Troubleshoot query string builder

Check these settings if the published page behaves differently from the editor.

Why is my parameter missing?

Rows without a name are ignored, and empty values are left out while that option is on.

Should spaces be %20 or +?

Both are read as spaces by most servers; + is what HTML forms send, %20 works everywhere in a URL.

Why does the address keep ?month=10?

Existing parameters on the base address are kept, and new ones are added after them.

Why is no full address shown?

The base must be a web address such as https://example.com/page; otherwise only the query string is built.
