Project risk register controls in Elementor

Risks holds one row per risk: description, likelihood, impact, mitigation and owner. Layout chooses a table, blocks in one to three columns, or one line per risk. Heading and text adds a heading, introduction, note, column labels and a message when there are no risks. The Style tab covers the entries, risk and label colours, the High, Medium and Low badges, table lines and header, heading and text, and an optional icon.

03 / Website use cases

Where to use project risk register

Clients, funders and community members trust a project more when they can see the risks it is managing. A spreadsheet export is hard to read on a web page. Project risk register shows each risk with its likelihood, impact, mitigation and owner in a readable table, with High, Medium and Low picked out in colour.

06 / Choose the right approach

Project risk register and Elementor alternatives

Compare the existing Elementor workflow with this Complementor module before choosing your setup.

Elementor's Text Editor table

Fine for a one-off table you format by hand; it does not colour levels or stack on phones.

A project management tool

Better for scoring, assigning and tracking risks over time; use this widget to publish the summary.

07 / Requirements and compatibility

Project risk register compatibility with Elementor

WordPress 6.5+PHP 8.0+Elementor 3.25+
  • Requires Elementor; works without Elementor Pro.
  • Shows risks written by the site owner; nothing is scored or tracked.
  • Up to 40 risks per widget; entries are plain text.

Complementor uses classic Elementor APIs. Atomic-native controls are not implemented. Check your theme, cache and integrations on a staging site before release.

08 / Common setup problems

Troubleshoot project risk register

Check these settings if the published page behaves differently from the editor.

Why is a likelihood not coloured?

Only High, Medium and Low (and Critical, Severe, Moderate, Minor, Very high, Very low) get a badge. Other words show as typed, or turn badges off.

Why does nothing show on the page?

There are no risks with a description. Add one under Risks, or set Text when there are no risks.

Why is a column missing?

Columns that are empty for every risk are left out. Fill in that part for at least one risk.

Why did an existing list change?

The default is now a table. Choose One line per risk under Layout for the earlier layout.

09 / Frequently asked questions
