Invite readers to comment before they reach the end.

Tell readers whether they can comment on the current post, linking to the form, to the login page, or saying comments are closed.
These are the actual published outputs of the widget on a post open to comments; on closed posts it shows the Closed text you enter.
Content sets whether it shows for open posts, closed posts or both, the wording for open, login-required and closed, the form link, text before and after, a fallback, the HTML tag and icons for open and closed. The Style tab covers typography, colours and background for closed posts, link hover colour, surface, border, radius and padding, plus the icon.
Readers scroll to the end of a post looking for the comment form, only to find it closed, or find out at the last moment that they must log in first. Post comment status says up front whether they can comment: an open status linked to the form, a login link when only registered users may comment, or a clear closed message. It follows WordPress's own discussion settings, including automatic closing on older posts.
