03 / Website use cases

Where to use live visitor clock

Businesses with customers in other countries want to show their own local time next to opening hours, and many clocks drift or show the server's time from a cached page. Live visitor clock shows the time in the visitor's zone, your site's zone or any named zone, formatted by the browser in the site language, and stays exact by reading the system clock on every update.

Live visitor clock compatibility with Elementor

WordPress 6.5+PHP 8.0+Elementor 3.25+

  • IANA zone names only.

Complementor uses classic Elementor APIs. Atomic-native controls are not implemented. Check your theme, cache and integrations on a staging site before release.

08 / Common setup problems

Troubleshoot live visitor clock

Check these settings if the published page behaves differently from the editor.

Why is it showing the visitor's time?

The zone name is not a known IANA name, or the site time zone is set as a UTC offset. Choose a city.

Why 12-hour time?

It follows the site language unless you choose 24-hour.

Does it drift?

No. Every update reads the system clock and waits for the next whole second or minute.

Why is nothing shown without JavaScript?

The time must come from the browser. Add a message without JavaScript if you like.

09 / Frequently asked questions

Live visitor clock plugin questions

Does it need Elementor Pro?

No. It works with the free version of Elementor.

Is anything sent to a server?

No. The time is read from the visitor's own computer and formatted in the browser.

Does it work with page caching?

Yes. The visitor-specific part is done in the browser, so a cached page stays correct.

Does it need JavaScript?

Yes, for the live part. Without it the widget falls back gracefully, as described above.

Is it announced by screen readers?

Not on every tick, which would be disruptive; the time has a machine-readable value.
