Content sets whether the caption is in this widget or elsewhere on the page, the image and its size, the caption source and text, the element ID, whether it starts hidden, and the button labels. The Style tab covers the image, the caption and the button.

03 / Website use cases

Where to use image caption disclosure

Long captions, photo credits and quiz answers can clutter a layout or give the game away, but hiding them often means a script that screen readers cannot use. Image caption disclosure puts the caption behind a real button with aria-expanded, shows it with a click, Enter or Space, and keeps it visible when JavaScript is off.

Keep credits available but out of the way.

09 / Frequently asked questions

Image caption disclosure plugin questions

Does it need Elementor Pro?

No. It works with the free version of Elementor.

Is anything sent to a server?

No. Showing and hiding happens in the visitor's browser and nothing is saved.

Does it work with page caching?

Yes. The visitor-specific part is done in the browser, so a cached page stays correct.

Does it need JavaScript?

Yes, for the live part. Without it the widget falls back gracefully, as described above.

Is it accessible?

Yes. It is a real button with aria-expanded and aria-controls, usable with the keyboard.
