03 / Website use cases

Where to use fraction simplifier

Pupils, parents, cooks and tradespeople often need to reduce a fraction or turn a decimal into one, and want to see how it was done. Fraction simplifier runs on your own page: visitors type a fraction, a mixed number or a decimal and see the simplest form, the mixed number, the exact decimal with repeating digits marked, the percentage and the working, updated as they type. Arithmetic is exact, even for very large numbers.

08 / Common setup problems

Troubleshoot fraction simplifier

Check these settings if the published page behaves differently from the editor.

Why does “5/0” show an error?

A fraction cannot have zero as its bottom number.

Why does 1/97 end with “…”?

Its repeating pattern is longer than the 30 decimal places shown.

Why is 0,5 not accepted?

A decimal comma works only on sites whose language uses one. Type 0.5 instead.

Why is the mixed number missing?

It appears only when the fraction is larger than 1.

09 / Frequently asked questions

Fraction simplifier plugin questions

Does it need Elementor Pro?

No. It works with the free version of Elementor.

Is the arithmetic exact?

Yes. It uses whole-number arithmetic, so nothing is rounded for numbers up to 30 digits.

What do the brackets in the decimal mean?

The digits in brackets repeat for ever, so 0.(6) means 0.666…

Is it accessible?

Yes. The field is labelled, errors are linked to it, and each result is announced.

Does it need JavaScript?

Yes. Without it a short message is shown instead.
