Content sets the text, an optional link, the tone, how long it stays closed, a name to close notices together, the region and button names, the button style and the message after closing. The Style tab covers the notice's typography, colours, border, radius, padding and link colour, and the close button's states and shape.

03 / Website use cases

Where to use dismissible session notice

Announcements such as delivery cut-offs, holiday closures or new features help once, then get in the way, and many banner tools use cookies or reappear on every page. Dismissible session notice shows your message with a real close button and keeps it closed for the rest of the session using the browser's session storage, with no cookie and nothing sent anywhere. Change the text and it shows again.

01

Delivery cut-offs

Tell shoppers when orders ship.

02

Holiday closures

08 / Common setup problems

Troubleshoot dismissible session notice

Check these settings if the published page behaves differently from the editor.

Why does it come back?

Closing lasts until the browser tab or window is closed, or only until the next load if set so.

Why did it reappear after I edited it?

The text changed, so visitors see the new notice. Set a notice name to keep it closed.

Why no close button without JavaScript?

It could not close anything, so it is not shown; the notice stays readable.

Why is it always shown in the editor?

So you can edit it.

09 / Frequently asked questions

Dismissible session notice plugin questions

Does it need Elementor Pro?

No. It works with the free version of Elementor.

Is anything sent to a server?

No. Closing is remembered only in the visitor's own browser, for that session.

Does it work with page caching?

Yes. The visitor-specific part is done in the browser, so a cached page stays correct.

Does it need JavaScript?

Yes, for the live part. Without it the widget falls back gracefully, as described above.

Does it need cookie consent?

It sets no cookie; it uses the browser's session storage, cleared when the session ends.
