Fashion and sizes
Show which sizes are nearly sold out.

Show how many of the chosen variation are left: “12 in stock”, “Only 2 left”, “Out of stock” or “Available on backorder”, with stock shared by all options said plainly.
These are the actual published outputs of the widget for the sample Merino scarf. On a product page they change with the chosen colour.
Content sets the product, whether to follow the shopper's choice, the quantity, low stock, shared and total texts, what shows before a choice, the status texts and whether to follow WooCommerce's stock display format. The Style tab covers typography, state colours, surface, border and icon.
Shoppers want to know if their size or colour is nearly gone, and “In stock” for the whole product hides it. Variation stock quantity shows the chosen option's count, says “Only 2 left” at the store's low stock threshold, explains stock shared by all options, and shows out of stock and backorder states, following WooCommerce's stock settings.

That option does not count stock, or “Follow WooCommerce's stock display format” is on with a format that hides counts.
A total is shown only when every option counts its own stock, or the product counts stock for all of them.
