Variation purchasability note controls in Elementor

Product chooses the current product, a selected variable product or one fixed variation, and what to show before a choice. Display sets the texts for options that can and cannot be bought, whether out of stock counts as not available, a text when options differ, a prefix and an optional icon. The Style tab covers typography, colours, background, border, radius, spacing, alignment, prefix colour, a colour for each answer and the icon.

03 / Website use cases

Where to use variation purchasability note

Shoppers only find out an option cannot be bought when the Add to cart button greys out. Variation purchasability note answers the question up front for the option they pick, using the same test as WooCommerce’s button, with its own colour for each answer.

Troubleshoot variation purchasability note

Check these settings if the published page behaves differently from the editor.

Why does an out-of-stock option say Available to buy?

It allows backorders, or Count out of stock as not available is off.

Why does an in-stock option say Not available to buy?

It has no price or is not published, so WooCommerce will not sell it.

Why does the note not change when I pick an option?

The widget follows the add-to-cart form of the same product on the page. Add the form alongside it.

Why does nothing show before a choice?

The options differ and Text when options differ is empty, or Before the shopper chooses is set to Nothing.
