Say how each colour is worn in its photo.

Show the caption of the image for the WooCommerce variation a shopper picks, such as Shown in Navy, worn as a loop, changing with the photo.
These are the actual published outputs of the widget for a sample variable product in the lab shop; on a product page the caption follows the shopper’s choice.
Product chooses the current product, a selected variable product or one fixed variation, and whether to show the main image’s caption before a choice. Display sets a prefix, a text for images without a caption and an optional icon. The Style tab covers typography, colours, background, border, radius, spacing, alignment, prefix, caption and link colours, italics and the icon.
When each colour or style has its own photo, shoppers want to know what they are looking at, such as how it is worn or who took the picture. WooCommerce does not show image captions on product pages. Variation image caption shows the caption of the photo for the option the shopper picks, from your Media Library.
