Where to use product short description
Custom product layouts and landing pages often need a product's summary next to a photo or a buy button, but the short description is locked inside the standard product template. Product short description shows it wherever you place it, formatted as WooCommerce formats it, or as a shortened teaser with a Read more link. When a product has no short description it can use the start of the full description, or stay hidden rather than leave a gap.

How to show a product short description in Elementor
Start with Complementor installed and your license connected. Enable this module in the WordPress library, then configure it in Elementor.
Install Complementor, connect your license and enable Product short description in the Complementor library.
Add the widget to a product template or page.
Choose the product, or leave it on the current product.
Optionally shorten it, set a fallback and add a Read more link.
Style it and preview a product.

Troubleshoot product short description
Check these settings if the published page behaves differently from the editor.
Why does nothing show?
The product has no short description. Add one when editing the product, or choose to use the start of the full description.
Why has the formatting gone?
Shortened text is shown as plain text so it can be cut cleanly. Set Shorten to 0 to keep the formatting.
Why is the Read more link missing?
It is shown only when the full description has more to read.
Where does Read more go on the product page?
To the Description tab on the same page.
Product short description plugin questions
Does it need Elementor Pro?
No. It works with the free version of Elementor and WooCommerce.
Are shortcodes in the short description run?
Yes. It uses the same WooCommerce filter as the standard product template.
Does it change product data?
No. It only reads the product's descriptions.
Is the text safe to show?
Yes. The output is filtered, so scripts are removed while normal formatting stays.
Does it work for password-protected products?
No. Protected and unpublished products show nothing.
